Summary
The objective of this workshop is to present fundamentals of atmospheric discharges, the
influence on electric circuits, such as grid connected photovoltaic systems, and how to minimize
induced overvoltage transients using surge protection devices (SPD). SPD electric characteristics
and basic application criteria for PV systems will be presented according to technical standards.
The workshop is mainly intended for engineers, technicians and electricians.
